A JUMPSTARTPAD PUBLICATION · GENAI BUILDS ONLY
THE GENAI RADAR.
The GenAI builds worth watching — from every hackathon, India + global.
Found, flagged, and followed. Only builds where the model does real work make the index — winners or not, any event, honest status on every one.
GENAI BUILDS ONLY NOT IGNITE — ANY EVENT, WINNER OR NOT

WHAT IT IS
A GenAI publication. We review hackathon builds where the model does real work — then we follow up. A flag means “watch this,” not “we endorse this.”
WHAT IT ISN’T
Not a winners list.Ignite is our winners-only continuation program at partner hackathons. The GenAI Radar is open to every GenAI build, from any event — winner or not. Separate doors.
THE ONE RULE
Flags are not for sale.No sponsor, organizer, or fee buys a flag. We pick on signal alone — and we re-check every build we’ve flagged.
01 — FEATURED THIS UPDATE · ROTATES
THE PICKS OF THE UPDATE.
The standout GenAI flags of this update — idea, team, and the hard part. Rotate below; hit KNOW MORE on any pick for the full flag.
02 — THE INDEX
EVERY GENAI BUILD WE’VE FLAGGED.
The full public record — moving, stalled, and dark. Hit KNOW MORE on any card for the whole story: the flag note, the hard part, and where the build stands today.
03 — HOW WE PICK
THE GENAI BAR, IN THE OPEN.
An index is only worth its criteria. Here are ours — and what never earns a flag, however good the pitch.
WHAT EARNS A FLAG
Live demo at demo day, not a deck. If it can’t survive a cold start in front of judges, it isn’t a build yet.
The GenAI bar. Somewhere in the build is model work nobody can rebuild in an evening — an eval, a fine-tune, a latency budget, a dataset. No model work, no flag.
A clinician, underwriter, farmer or teacher on the team — or one who has stress-tested the prototype. We’re a technology × domain accelerator; the domain half isn’t decoration.
Scope honesty. The builds we trust most arrive with a list of what they deliberately refuse to do.
WHAT NEVER DOES
A UI over someone else’s API with nothing of its own. If there’s no model work, it isn’t a GenAI build — it’s a client.
The difference between a prototype and a pitch is whether it runs.
Numbers generated for judges don’t count as signal.
Flags cannot be bought, bundled or requested by sponsors or organizers. Ever.
EVERY FLAG GETS RE-CHECKED.
Being flagged puts a build on the record — and the record is honest. When a team keeps going, the status moves. When a repo goes cold, the index says WENT DARK, in plain type. Nothing gets quietly deleted for not making it. That’s the difference between a showcase and an index.
An editorial opinion. Costs the team nothing, promises nothing.
Some flagged teams want to keep building. We talk. Most don’t, and that’s fine.
The winners-only continuation program, run at partner hackathons. A different door entirely.
A FLAG IS AN OPINION. IGNITE IS A PROGRAM. THEY ARE SEPARATE DOORS, AND ONLY ONE OF THEM ASKS ANYTHING OF YOU. MOST FLAGGED BUILDS NEVER JOIN IGNITE — THE INDEX DOESN’T CARE, AND NEITHER DO WE.
04 — NOMINATE
BUILT SOMETHING
WORTH WATCHING?
GenAI builds only — if the model does real work, we want to see it. The bar: it ran at a hackathon, a domain expert was involved, and you can point at the hard model part. Self-nominations aren’t just allowed — they’re most of what we read.
